What to Know: How to Register to Vote
September 20 is National Voter Registration Day. Find out how to register to vote in Adams County.
Information you need to register:
You must register to vote no later than 15 days before the election.
To be eligible to vote in Pennsylvania, you must:
- be a United States citizen at least 30 days before the next election
- a resident of Pennsylvania at least 30 days before the next election
- be at least 18 years old on the day of the next election
To register to vote in Pennsylvania, the following information is required on your application:
- Legal First and Last Name
- Birth date
- Residential address
- County of residence
- Proof of identity - PA Driver’s License or PennDOT ID card or Social Security Number
- Reason for registration - new registration or change of information (previous information required)
The following information is optional on your application:
- Additional Contact Information (phone, email)
- Mailing address if different from residential address
- Political Party
- Accessibility and/or language needs
- Whether you would like to receive mail-in ballots
